Violin Classes

  • 3-5 students max.
  • divided by age/experience level
  • work from book chosen by instructor
  • Holiday/Spring Group Recital Given
  • Weekly 45 minute class
  • $20 (paid monthly)

Students will need to have their own violins. We suggest you rent one from Paige’s Music if you do not have one of your own.

Instructors:

Mr. Ben Yoder, HSE Intermediate and Jr. High Orchestra Director

  • B.S. Music Education Degree, Ball State University
  • Prior to teaching in HSE, Mr. Ben has conducted in: Goshen and Richmond as well as Youth and Professional Orchestras in Muncie, Indianapolis, Elkhart.

Interesting fact about Mr. Ben:  he plays on a violin that is over 100 years old.

Miss Martha Robinson: with her students last Spring                                                                                                                                                                            

 Miss Martha, has her degree in education and has been instructing since 1997.  She began her study at the age of 4 and still to this day participates in music as active performer and educator.  Martha has participated in various music ministries, string quartets, choirs, drama departments, orchestras, hand-bell choirs and church choirs.  She currently directs the Children’s Choir at College Park Church in Indianapolis. 

Interesting Fact about Martha: she comes from a family with five children whom all play stringed instruments and sing together.
